A Banner Student consultant specializes in the training, consulting, and implementation of Banner for integration of student records information at higher education institutions, maximizing the flexibility of the Banner Series.

  • Responsible for interfacing with client administration, programming and technical staff, in matters of conversion, to ensure a smooth transition to Banner Student.
  • Provide hands-on training of the Banner Student system to all team members and selected staff.
  • Consults with institutions on policy and procedural matters to ensure maximum results from their new student system.
  • Responsible for working closely with the Business Process Analysis process in the preparation for client implementation of Banner.
  • Responsible for building rules, populating tables and making recommendations for Banner implementations.
  • Review procedures with long-term SunGard Higher Education clients to ensure maximum usage of Banner capabilities after system upgrades.
  • Develop presentations and training materials as needed for clients with specialized needs.
  • Write documentation and procedure guides in conjunction with or for clients.
  • Troubleshoot when a Banner process is not working properly at a client site—find the problem and offer solutions.

  • Develop procedures and technological solutions to increase the effectiveness and the efficiency of the Registrar’s Office.
  • Registrar’s Office testing liaison with OIT (Computer Center).
  • Coordinate institutional wide registration process.
  • Conduct Banner training for faculty and numerous office personnel throughout the institution.

  • Student – successfully developed and implemented Recruitment, Admissions, Transfer Articulation, General Student, Curriculum and Advising, Registration and Academic History conversion.
  • Financial Aid – coordinated the successful implementation of the Financial Aid module with a Senior Principal SunGard subject matter expert
  • Advancement – coordinated the beginning of the implementation of the Advancement module with a Senior SunGard subject matter expert.  Implementation suspended after absence of UDC Advancement leadership.

Assistant Registrar and Academic Advising Program Coordinator

Looked for ways in which the Registrar’s Office could fulfill the University’s needs through technology and customer service.  Focused on maximizing use of Banner.

  • Developed procedures and explored technological solutions to increase the effectiveness and the efficiency of the Registrar’s Office.
  • Reviewed all processed of the Registrar’s Office to insure use of effective technology.
  • Acted as the Registrar’s Office liaison with ITSD (Computer Center).
  • Responsible for supervision of employees providing services ranging from maintenance of all information concerning a student’s personal and academic history to registration and graduation on the computer system.  Approximate student population was 16, 2000.
  • Coordinated institutional wide registration process.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and managing three full time academic advisors on the Banner Student system to conduct the academic advising procedures for student athletes.
  • Responsible as Assistant Project Manager for implementation of the Banner student system in the areas of housing, accounts receivable, testing, academic advising for student athlete program, financial aid, and CAPP, which included testing the system in these areas.
  • Conducted Banner Training classes for faculty, faculty advisors, and numerous office personnel throughout the institution.
  • Created and set-up record procedures and advising procedures for the Academic Advising Center’s student athlete advisors.
